Home Page and Navigation System, Final Project (Part 2)

Below is the link to my site, Sabrina Lambros Photography. I found this project to be very enjoyable, and an important learning experience, as creating a portfolio is critical to showcase your work for many artists, like myself.

Working in WIX had allowed me a lot of creative range to produce my own layout and designs, such as the organization of my photographs on my gallery site, and also theme, and color scheme for my site, according to my own design sensibilities.

Home Page and Navigation System, Final Project (Part 1)

My portfolio will consist of my photography work. I am looking to have a sleek and simple portfolio design that emphasizes my work. The first sketch is of my homepage. The header will be a slate gray color with black font color. My logo is of a red wax seal stamp with my initials in it. “About," gallery,” and “contact” information will also be included in my header. One photograph of mine will be taking up the rest of the homepage, below the header.

The next sketch is of my “About” section. I will include a small picture of myself, and my bio and picture will be in two separate square boxes with the word “welcome” in the middle, separating the two squares. The background will have a semi-transparent version of the same photograph that is on the homepage.

My “Gallery” page will only have pictures of my work. The different size boxes in my sketch represent all the different sizes of my photographs, some vertical, horizontal, square, etc. I would like my portfolio to have the option for the viewer to click on any photograph, and for that photograph to open into a bigger version. On the gallery page, I will have a black background.

Lastly, on the “Contact” page, I will have my contact information in the upper-right hand corner. In the middle of the page will be a direct contact option for viewers to email me. In the bottom left-hand corner will be my social networking sites.  The background for the contact page will continue with the semi-transparent version of the same photograph that is on the homepage and my “about” page.

Avatar Project (Part 2)

For this project, I decided to create an avatar of me transformed into a bat. My ears, nose, eyes, pupils, and teeth are manipulated to that of bat features, and my face and chin are also elongated. I added some bat hair on my face and neck. Perspective Warp, Blur Tool, Paint Brush, and Noise Filter were all used in order to create my avatar.

Perspective Warp was used to change the perspective on the bat ears, nose, and my face. Blending was achieved through utilizing the Blur Tool. I used Paint Brush to alter my skin tone and create the bat hair on my face and neck. The texture on my skin was changed by using the Noise Filter. Overall, this was a really exciting project and creative experience.

Avatar or Photo Retouching (Part 1)

For my Module 5 project, I chose to design an avatar (Option 1). I really wanted to make something horror related, and slightly humorous. My avatar will be of me transformed into a bat. I am looking to supplement my ears, nose, pupils, and teeth to that of a bats', and manipulate the rest of my features.

Here is my sketch:

This is the picture of me that I will be using:
