For this
project, I recreated Tony Fletcher’s biography, Moon.
A night sky with stars is incorporated on the back and front cover as the
overall background. In the upper right side of the front cover, is a bass drum
that is reminiscent of a moon, and a crescent formation is seen on the right side. Keith
Moon’ band logo, The Who, is placed on the bass drum/moon. On the spine of my design is The Who's logo, a red, white, and blue target.
Some of the
tools used for this project is perspective warp on the moon image in the right
corner, and an outer glow effect on the typography. The gestalt principle of continuation
is seen in my summary of Fletcher’s biography. When looking at this design,
your eye moves downward in the curved direction.
I like the joining of the back and front cover, and the spine that is blanketed by the night sky.
Although I portrayed a play on words of the moon and Keith Moon, it is more of a tribute to the fact that he is no longer with us, and lives on through his music with The Who.
